Long-time super villain Carmen Sandiego has made more appearances than you would think in video games. Though he’s not been around for some years now Carmen has had hits on Master System C-64 NES and MegaDrive. And now he’s back for an all-new criminal adventure for GameCube.
Deep in the jungles of Rwanda lies a hidden temple containing a great diamond that possesses the knowledge of all nations. The map to the temple has been etched onto the skins of eight drums scattered throughout the world. But beware the drums are protected by mysterious powers and legend has it that elemental spirits guard the treasure. And that’s Carmen Sandiego’s goal – to retrieve all pieces of the map and steal the jewel.
But where there’s a villain there’s an unwitting hero in the making. And in this instance our protagonist is ACME agent-in-training Cole Gannon. Accompanied by loyal friends Jules Argent and Shadow Hawkins players must embark on an adventure to capture the world-renowned thief in a massive and long-overdue third-person epic adventure.
The adventure will take our hero across several vibrant fully 3D locations that include a museum in New York the beaches of New Zealand and Inca ruins. Stealth and combat are the focus for gameplay and as Cole you’ll have to make good use of acrobatics martial arts and your wits to stop Carmen Sandiego from unearthing the lost drums and making off with the treasure.
Games like Carmen Sandiego are common ground in the 3D age of gaming and with good reason. Give this a go you’ll like it.——
